Apply Job ID R000002610 Date posted 12/28/2020Finance Shared Services Buenos Aires Production, Revenue & Royalty Accounting (PR&RA) department performs the production, revenue, royalty and tax accounting for Chevron’s U.S. Upstream oil and gas portfolio. As a Royalty & Tax Analyst within PR&RA, you will be tasked with helping implement new technologies (i.e. data analytics, robotics/automation and digitalization), complying with government regulations, analyzing complex agreements, and looking for ways to optimize current processes. This position works closely with Chevron U.S. Upstream personnel (Finance, Law, Land Ownership and other staffs), as well as a variety of third-party partners/vendors and government entities to support business decisions and give you a solid overview of Chevron’s core business.
Chevron uses industry leading applications, including SAP, PowerApps/Microsoft Flows, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Workplace by Facebook, etc.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Apply accounting principles and policies to properly record U.S. state royalty and/or severance tax payments, expense accruals and receivables
Prepare U.S. state royalty and/or severance tax reports and payments in accordance with lease agreements and applicable regulations
Participate in special projects (e.g. process optimization & reengineering, automation & digitalization, etc.)
Process private royalty owner payments as well as calculate, remit and report tax withholdings on behalf of private royalty owners
Partner with internal and external PR&RA teams as well as use knowledge of production and revenue accounting fundamentals to research royalty owner payable balances and adjustments
Participate in month/quarter/year end processes (e.g. variance and reject analysis of results, account reconciliation, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
+ 4 years of relevant accounting work experience (e.g. accounts payables, accounts reconciliation, inventory, fixed assets, general ledger, intercompany, exchange accounting, credits and receivables, Audit, Tax)
Finance, accounting or business administration degree.
Fluency in both Spanish and English is a must.
Accounting Proficiency: Proficient in understanding and applying accounting policies and corporate guidelines
Analytical: Capable of identifying all aspects of a problem and understanding why a problem exists; providing a solution
Technical: Demonstrate ability to manipulate data with Excel or other applications/tools and apply results to Financial ERP modules (i.e. SAP)
Communication: Proven ability to listen carefully and use clear, concise oral and written skills to convey facts and present positions
Managing Performance: Display initiative and leadership in handling multiple job responsibilities, setting priorities, maintaining a high level of accomplishment, and implementing process improvements
